Art Experience. Bochum Art Museum is located on the edge of the public park, in the heart of the city, in an architecturally impressive group of buildings. A shrewd acquisition policy (Expressionists, East European Art, Outsider Art) and lovingly presented exhibitions have given the Museum its unique profile. Frequent temporary exhibitions feature both photography and young, experimental art. The Museum sees itself as a place for communication and "Art Workshop" with a broad programme of activities.
Ancient meets Modern. Ancient and contemporary art come together in the exhibition rooms of the Ruhr University Art Collections. You can admire Greek and Roman coins, oil lamps, ancient vases and beautifully preserved glass vessels. The highlight is a group of exquisite Greco-Roman portraits in marble and bronze. The modern collection contains paintings, statues and kinetic art from the post-1945 period.
Situation Kunst. Architecture, nature and art come together in an aesthetic dialogue in Weitmar Park with the "Situation Art" collection that includes works by Serra, Nordman, Kricke and Rabinovitch. The collection was extended in 2006 to include light and room installations juxtaposed with African and Asian art from past eras.
Exclusive. galerie m has an international reputation for its professional commitment to contemporary art. The gallery displays works by world famous artists such as Richard Serra, but shows both established and emerging art. Focus is on representational and non-representational art. Photography and video installations also have a place in galerie m.
Kunsterlebnis. Direkt am Stadtpark, im Herzen der City, residiert das Kunstmuseum Bochum in einem architektonisch interessanten Ensemble. Durch geschickte Sammlertätigkeit (Expressionismus, Osteuropäische Kunst, Art Brut) und liebevoll kuratierte Ausstellungen erarbeitete sich das Institut ein einzigartiges Profil. Regelmäßige Wechselausstellungen zeigen neben Fotografie auch junge, experimentelle Kunst. Das Museum versteht sich als Ort der Kommunikation und „Kunst-Werkstatt” mit vielfältigem Rahmenprogramm.
Antike neben Moderne. In den Räumen der Kunstsammlungen der Ruhr-Universität begegnen sich antike Kulturen und zeitgenössische Kunst. Hier können Sie griechische und römische Münzen, Öllämpchen, antike Vasen und gut erhaltene Glasgefäße bewundern. Glanzstück ist ein Ensemble ausgesuchter griechisch-römischer Porträts aus Marmorund Bronze. Die moderne Abteilung zeigt Malerei, Plastik und kinetische Kunst nach 1945.
Situation Kunst. In einem ästhetischen Dialog von Architektur, Natur und Kunst präsentiert die Situation Kunst im Schlosspark Haus Weitmar unter anderem Werke von Serra, Nordman, Kricke und Rabinovitch. Ein 2006 neu eröffneter Sammlungskomplex zeigt neben aktuellen Licht- und Rauminstallationen bedeutende Exponate historischer afrikanischer und asiatischer Kunst.

Die Galerie vertritt weltbekannte Künstler wie Richard Serra, stellt aber neben etablierten auch ganz junge künstlerische Positionen vor.
